Partners

The eight partners of the project bring together scientific excellence in research and experience in ultra-trace measurements of micropollutants. They offer a balance of expertise in method development and validation, development and certification of Reference Materials, proficiency tests / interlaboratory comparison design and standardisation activities, to address the objectives of the project.

LNE will coordinate the project and lead WP 4 Impact and WP5 Management and Coordination. LNE has long-time competence in metrology and monitoring of ultra-traces of micropollutants within WFD. LNE is strongly connected to stakeholder’s community through its public mission to support the implementation of the WFD in France and transfer of knowledge to end-users. LNE is strongly involved in standardization activities.

BAM will lead WP1 on optimization and validation on sample preparation methods. BAM is accredited as testing laboratory under EN/ISO 17025:2005 and reference material producer under ISO Guide 34. BAM coordinated EMRP JRP ENV8 Traceable measurements for monitoring critical pollutants under the European Water Framework Directive (WFD-2000/60/EC). BAM is strongly involved in standardization activities.

ISPRA will lead WP2 on optimization and validation on detection methods. ISPRA mission is to guarantee QA/QC of environmental data in support of Italian environmental policies also participating to research programs. Moreover, ISPRA works in collaboration with JRC, on effect-based methods design justifying their specific implication on the project. ISPRA is strongly involved in standardization activities

SYKE will lead WP3 on Evaluation and Demonstration of fitness for purpose of the methods. SYKE is strongly involved in standardization activities and is accredited according to ISO 17043 as PT providers.

TUBITAK, TUBITAK Chemical Metrology infrastructure includes many sample processing systems under the TUBITAK Reference Materials Laboratory. TUBITAK coordinates EMPIR project 14RPT03-ENVCRM “Matrix reference materials for environmental analysis” and will bring knowledge in reference materials design. TUBITAK is a leading NMI in purity assessment of chemicals and displays of a unique analytical platform to address it.

UBX/CNRS (EPOC) research activities are dedicated to the understanding of the biogeochemical cycle of chemicals in the environment. It displays a unique analytical platform (wide range of hyphenated MS techniques, bioassays) to monitor pollutants, estrogens, at the ultra-trace level in the different compartments of the environment and to understand their effects. Accordingly, UBX/CNRS will bring its expertise in in all the technical work packages. It has also background in trainings and will put its expertise in this field to use to the benefit of the project.

NIC has experience in characterization of complex water matrix and ILC organisation. Accordingly, NIC will be involved in WP3 activities.

JSI has background in monitoring estrogens in the context of Watch list monitoring. JSI coordinated an ILC on estrogenic measurements organized within Norman network and has a widen expertise in estrogenic substance measurements in complex matrix.
